Attorney Shlomo Himmel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Touro College. He received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School. Shlomo Himmel is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and the Federal and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the American, New Jersey State, New York State, and Union County Bar Associations.
Before starting The Law Office of Shlomo Himmel, Esq., Shlomo worked at a Manhattan law firm, and served as a Communications Director in the New York State Senate. Shlomo started The Law Office of Shlomo Himmel, Esq. after recognizing an urgent need for client-focused legal services for getting a divorce online PA.
"Many law firms are all about the billables," says Shlomo. "I wanted to create a law practice that puts the client first and foremost. Our goal at Himmel Law is to provide the client with a stress-free attorney-client experience; we respond quickly to client communications and we strive to keep our clients updated about the status of their matters. No client should have to wonder 'what's going on with my case? Why haven't I heard from my lawyer?'."
As a former member of the Military Law Clinic and Veterans' Justice Project in Brooklyn, Shlomo frequently fights for veterans' rights both in and out of court, ensuring that they receive the benefits to which they are justly entitled. In 2016, Shlomo drafted legislation that would help create a Veterans' Treatment Court, and he provided testimony to the New Jersey State Legislature about the importance of such a measure.
An active member of his community, Shlomo sits on the board of his synagogue, where he co-chairs the finance and welcoming committees. Shlomo is also a board member of the local "Y" Club and a member of the Greater Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce. Shlomo is also an active volunteer EMT and serves as a part-time municipal prosecutor in Elizabeth.
In Shlomo's free time he enjoys lifting weights at the gym, cycling, reading, and, most of all, spending time with his wife and dog.
